Convictions can KILL!

Had a conversation with a leader the other day, and he had to hold firm to a “conviction” he had. His conviction was forcing others to move in a direction they didn’t really care for. So, what does the leader do?

Hold true to his convictions! This is the kicker, don’t have to many “convictions” if you do, you will constantly be in a conflict with those you lead:

Convictions(X100) = Constant (XConflict)
Convictions(X10) = Constant (XContent)

(I’m not referring to doctrinal or theological convictions, but you should have a short list there too!)

Too many leaders mask their issues Continue Reading…

4-Ways to GROW Leaders like Jesus!

Jesus bet a lot on a little!

When He left this world, He left the entire future of His church in the hands of a dozen, “untrained & uneducated men.” I was recently thinking about how Jesus grew these extraordinary leaders, and He had one HECK of a system! He was entrusting all of Christendom to it!

Be fruitful & MULTIPLY

We are commanded to multiply… Continue Reading…

Jesus Didn’t win the World!

Jesus didn’t win the world…

Jesus had a tribe of 12. He didn’t come to win the world but came to die for the world! He invested in and equipped a tribe of 12 that did win the world! What a great challenge for leaders!

Jesus didn’t spent His earthly ministry trying to do everything Continue Reading…

Let it GO! Or you won’t GROW!

Next Level Leader Discussions…

Many times revolve around a fear of letting something go. But unwilling to take your hands off one thing means you are unable to grasp the next. I tell Next Level Leaders quite simply…

Let it Go! Or you won’t GROW!

5-Signs…Don’t follow that leader!

There are so many reports, surveys, studies & speculations about the state of the church. There seems to be “trends” in every direction: House churches, Multi site, church planting of every kind.

But in everyone of these scenarios there is an undeniable truth about the leaders… Continue Reading…

No.3- Must watch body Part!

#3- Watch your Ears. “Careful little ears what you hear.” Did you ever sing that song with your mom as a kid? It has great Biblical truth to it. We must be careful what we allow ourselves to hear.

The Leaders Utopia… Doesn’t exist!

As leaders we say to ourselves, if only… and then everything would be great. In other words, if this person, that place, this program, those priorities would be… great, yeah THEN I could really move.

Well, I have been searching for that “Utopian”… Continue Reading…

7-Proofs, I don’t have it all together!

You know, just because you are a pastor, leader, father, mother or CEO it doesn’t mean you aren’t human! I’m a pastor, but I am so human it is flat out scary. Almost everyday I think to myself, everyone around me is going to figure out I don’t have it all together. It’s not like I act as if I have it all together, it’s just that when you are a leader, people “think” you should have it all together! Well let me confess to you right now I DON’T! Let me tell you why… Continue Reading…

#2-Navy Seal lesson- “Fear Nothing!”

What you fear will cripple you! That’s why God is so against fear, fear is a sin! This is the second in the Navy Seal Leadership lessons series, based on the book,  Leadership Lessons of the Navy Seals. It should go without saying, fear has no place in the life of a Christ-follower, and certainly not in the life of a leader!

Fear is one of the oldest and most effective tools of the enemy to take out those who may be gifted, called, anointed & empowered to do great things for the Kingdom. Fear paralyzes it’s victim by injecting the mind  with overwhelming thoughts of, “what if?” What if I get hurt, I lose that.. Continue Reading…

Perception is King!

Perception is KING! I can’t tell you how many times I have spoken and preached this. It’s one of those “small foxes” that can not be overlooked. We need to understand the things we say and do may not match or even  slightly resemble our intention. Intention is not perception. What others hear and  experience will be “perceived” in a real and impactful way. So we must always ask this question: “How will this be perceived?” Continue Reading…
