Pastor’s Wife Leaves & Flees to Another Country

My wife is leaving me today and going to her home country of Liberia, West Africa for three weeks. She is going to do some incredible work for the organization Think Liberia.

She is fleeing the pressures and stresses of the Western mindset to find herself once again in the very familiar slow, but often frustrating culture of West Africa, a pace she embraces and longs for, the birth place of her heart.

She goes this time for several big “Callings.”

1. Down payment on land for a future compound for THINK

2. Moving her sister’s remains to new location by the sea – the ocean that took her life almost 30 years ago (Her naturally born older sister drowned on her Senior class trip and was buried on a compound in Liberia)

3. Securing a rental headquarters for the organization and our church planting initiative there.

4. Putting stakes in ground around a historic home for the victims of “Gender Based Violence” in the THINK program

Needless to say, I am quite proud of my wife! She walks in great faith, hears God with incredible clarity and loves her husband, family and others to the point of “great pain.” I am truly blessed.

Go with all the blessings and love of those you leave behind – my love. You will do and accomplish ALL that God has for you with great power and Godly courage. Then return safely to us.

The Feet of a Godly Leader

This entry is part 4 of 4 in the series The BODY of a Godly LEADER

Where are you going? Ever hear that from your mom growing up? She would ask when…1- She could see you walking into danger. 2- She knew you didn’ t know where you were going.

I think God screams that at leaders many times. Continue Reading…

The HAND of a Godly LEADER

A godly leader is very careful where they put their effort. They understand that time and effort is limited, so they put aside the selfish and robbing things, and choose to pick up the God-Thing. The God-Thing is the task or activity that God has communicated as priority. That’s where the hand goes.

This entry is part 3 of 4 in the series The BODY of a Godly LEADER

This is part of the…

Body of a godly Leader series...

The heart is the epicenter of any person. The place they dream, decide, prioritize, love and house their emotions. It’s not hard to see why God says that’s the first place He looks for a leader.

There are some things I have seen in the hearts of great godly leaders: Continue Reading…

The MOUTH of a Godly LEADER

This entry is part 1 of 4 in the series The BODY of a Godly LEADER

Continuing the series on…

“The Body of a godly Leader” today we look at…The Mouth. Jesus said that the mouth speaks out of what fills the heart, so a leaders’ words reveal a lot about them.

I have seen a leader hide a lot for a period of time, but eventually their words reveal…motives, intentions, emotions and passions. They can talk a good game in the short run, but believe me, their mouth will tell the true story.

Words of Life

A godly leader speaks words of life Continue Reading…

What Kind of Leaders are You Attracting?

Who is drawn to you? I have been pondering this question for a couple of days as I looked at the life of Jesus and David. The warring king and the saving King. Different callings, but incredible leaders.

I made a statement on Twitter yesterday that, “David and Jesus surrounded themselves with “Mighty Men”, who are yours?” Continue Reading…

7-Things Leaders Should Learn from the Death of Osama Bin Laden

If you are like me you awoke, or was informed late Sunday night about the US bagging the most wanted terrorist in the world, Osama Bin Laden.

Listening to the numerous accounts of exactly what occurred prior to, and the actual operation, gave me some leadership pointers…

1- Never Give up on an objective, no matter how illusive it may seem. Continue Reading…

@ScottWilliams Diversity Movement. Moveable or Immoveable?

@Scott Williams has released his new Book:

Diversity, “Sunday the most segregated day of the week.” Scott has done a great job of bringing this topic to the front of the line.

Diversity is hot! Even though it’s like an “elephant” in the pew” because we aren’t very good at it. We know in our hearts that’s the way church should be, but most churches stare at their failure across their own congregation weekly, and so we shift to another topic. Continue Reading…
