Are You Leading in Wisdom or Faith?

How you lead is important, but even more important is what you lead “in.” Most leaders lead in wisdom. They look, pray, seek counsel and then lead in the direction they feel is most wise.

But the wisdom from above Continue Reading…

What Makes You Different?

Are you different? I mean when someone outside of the Kingdom has the opportunity to get to know you…What makes you different? Or is there really no difference in what they see in you and say… the Muslim, Buddhist or moral driven individual that is loving, kind and generous.

What should they see? Continue Reading…

You will never win a foot race running on ONE LEG!

Never underestimate the power of unity. I’m not talking about unity in your church, but with your spouse. When God put the two of you together, He made the two of you ONE. You don’t have four-legs now, you only have two.

The importance of you and your spouse walking in unity will make or break all that God has in store for you. Your calling is not just yours, one leg can’t run a race. If you have a call, then you both have a call! If you don’t agree with that, you are on borrowed time. “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” My wife recognizes my call Continue Reading…

What are you MOVING?

You are called my God to be a mover. You have probably heard your whole life that “you have to move with God.” That is true! But your greatest call is to move OTHERS!

It’s so easy to become so focused on ourselves and how we are doing in our journey with God. Am I reading enough, praying enough, serving in the right place…Blah Blah Blah. That mind set puts our eyes on us and there’s no room left to focus on others.

We are called by God to “Go and make Followers of everyone, everywhere.” That means we have to be intentionally moving others toward Continue Reading…

What You Measure Matters

We are changing what we measure at Cornerstone. I think we should measure 1-Thing…

Rebellion and Leadership are Cousins

I have seen many great leaders have the same trait…Rebellion. I mean at one point for a period of time in their lives they were rebellious. I think rebellion is the seed from which many godly leaders are sprouted. Rebellion is having… Continue Reading…

If it’s NOT tested…It’s not REAL

“I have a Rocket Ship.” Really? “Has it ever flown?” NO! “Well, it’s not a Rocket ship.” Yes it is, I built it, and says right on the side, “Rocket Ship.”

Somethings can carry a label, but when tested it becomes obvious it’s not authentic. What is advertised is not really what’s on the inside. It’s the same with anything we carry in life.

We are so quick to say… Continue Reading…

Pastor Call: To Pursuit not Perfection

The expectations of a Pastor or Christian leader or many times unattainable. We are “expected” to act, think, speak, react, plan, budget, raise kids, have a marriage, counsel, lead, encourage, and O yeah…Preach to perfection.

I think we all know these are unrealistic, and these kind of expectations have destroyed so many promising leaders’ future… Continue Reading…

5-Keys to doing the IMPOSSIBLE

“Look!” he said. “The people are united, and they all speak the same language. After this, nothing they set out to do will be impossible for them! ~ Gen 11:6

Even though God was disappointed with their motivation of “making a name for ourselves,” God applauded their System for accomplishing their task. Continue Reading…

Revel or Resist?

Every father waits with mixed emotion for the day when his son will beat him in a game of 1-on-1.

On one hand, it’s quite a humbling eye opener to realize you’re not as young as you used to be, but on the other hand, there is a swelling sense of pride that your son has just outshone you…that he has reached a level of ability beyond that which you possess. Continue Reading…
