Little Q- BIG Consequences

This is a painting my wife brought back for me from Liberia, West Africa.

When I saw it, I was reminded…

‘Streams of living water will flow from deep within the person who believes in me.’

Which brings BIG Q’s?

  • If the water flowing from us is "Living" water, who is finding life from you right now?
  • If the water is flowing, are those around you drawn to you?
  • Remember the woman at the well, she found the "living water" as Craveable. Are you Craveable?
  • When we accurately reflect Jesus, people should hold out both hands to receive the life that flows from us!

I was challenged by these questions, and I have hung this painting directly across from my desk. Whenever I look up and see it, the question keeps coming to my mind…

"Is Living water flowing from me and giving life to others?"

How are you doing with that question?

5-Ways to Always BE Ready

"Always Be ready, then you never have to get ready."

That was a quote from Kenny Miles, a running back for the University of South Carolina. When asked how he performed so well when called upon at the last minute.

He said his dad always taught him that principle. That everyday he should work hard to be ready at any time, because he would never know when he would be called on. Continue Reading…

Start Over the RIGHT Way

Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God…"

Everyday you wake up and put your feet on the floor, you have the chance to start over. The biggest reason we want a fresh start or a do-over is because we started wrong in the first place.

We read the first verse of the Bible a lot of the times and skip right over it… not thinking of the value. The value that comes from starting over the right way… the God way.

I’d Rather Be Wrong Than Send Someone to Hell

I know that sounds kinda crazy. Like I could actually SEND people to hell…

I can’t.

It’s not up to me.

I found a New Lover – She’s Awesome!

I found a new lover, her name is…Today!

There are somethings God has put on my heart lately. They seem elementary, but very heavy, and at times difficult to keep in the forefront of my mind. One of those is… Continue Reading…

Jesus Did These 4-Are you?

Do this… take a modern translation of Scripture and flip through all the Gospels in the New Testament, and just look at the "section summaries ." You know those little one-line descriptions giving a summary of what you are about to read.

I did that with my New King James study bible. I made a list of the actions that Jesus did publicly, during His earthly ministry. Continue Reading…

4-Steps to Win. Every time!

Ever notice God is constantly "flipping the pages" of our lives? We go from place to place (page to page), and season to season (Chapter to Chapter). Some places are easy, some hard, some seem unbearable!

But in each place God wants us to Win It! Have victory in EVERY place, every page and in every season.

I have found these 4-steps to be invaluable to me in seeing that victory. Simple but very powerful… Continue Reading…

Are You Poisoning People?

Been talking this week how the Bible gives us the "What" we must do, but not the "How." You can catch up Here…and  Here.

We can never fall in love with "How" we do things! The moment we fall in love with the "How" we become a Pharisee. I know that sounds a little harsh, but Jesus’ main contention with the Pharisee’s were there insistance of taking a command of God, and then telling everyone "how" to do it. What they could and could not do!

Jesus said they were like "broods of Vipers." In other words, they injected venom and poison Continue Reading…

The Bible Tells You What…But not How

This is "What" you have to do. It’s very clear in the Bible what those things are…

                • Love God with all you got
                • Love others like yourself
                • Tell others about Jesus
                • Love your Bride like Jesus did His
                • Be Patient
                • Be Kind
                • And _________. Continue Reading…

2 Seasons

Isaiah 55:6 (NIV) Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.

Have you ever heard someone say that life is just a journey with mountain tops and valleys?

When they say that, they mean we can’t always be on a "high" for God. They mean that we have low points, and at times these can become quite low. I guess for the most part I too have held to this same view, but recently I have begun to see things differently.

Consider, if our life journey, our walk with God is not one of mountains and valleys, but rather of mountain’s and plateaus. A woman recently made this comment to my wife, and I have thought about it often. Just as this verse in Isaiah states: "seek the Lord while he may be found…" I am starting to see in my own life my journey with God has a "cadence." A cycle of  two seasons: Seeking & Running.
