As much as we would love to send to some of these to Gitmo for vision espionage, we simply don’t have that authority…sadly. But, if we give their voice weight, they will keep looking for opportunities to complain.
Naysayers and complainers don’t have a desire to help ini what they say, they are looking for a platform that will hear them and respond. It makes them feel empowered.
Momentum is one of those things we all want as leaders. When we have momentum behind us and what we’re leading, we become unstoppable. Walking in great momentum is one of those “sweet” spots for a leader. Every move you make seem to turn to gold.
How do you create momentum?
It definitely requires seeking God, being desperate for his voice, and having a good team around you. The number one way, though, when it’s all said and done…
Any church that doesn’t change in response to the change in culture, community or context will eventually cease to exist. Any church that wants to stay around and keep their doors open will make constant and subtle changes along the way.
How should that change take place?
2 Corinthians 10:5 (NIV) We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God,Â and we take captive every thought to make it obedientÂ to Christ.
How many times have we read that verse or quoted that verse? MANY! Too often, though, we read that and dismiss that little word in thereâ¦
So, without the word “every,” we only dismiss the big thoughtsâ¦ if we apply the verse at all. The problem? Without the word “every,” we let that mini thought stand.
You know the “mini” thought. The one that is just quick and feel harmless. The problem with the mini thought is that it fuels MAJOR actions if it’s aloud to live in our minds.
