I watched Diana Nyad recently tell the story of her historical swim from Cuba to Florida. It was an inspiring story and she shared a few of the reasons that allowed her to accomplish a feat many tried before her, but all met with failure. Here are a few of the “strategies” she mentioned.
1- Recruit Winners
Diana praised her “world class” team for protecting her from everything from killer jelly fish to sharks and pushing her further than she ever dreamed. It’s not a secret that bringing the best team with you will push you!
Look for those who can push you the most in what God has for you, not just those who will tell you you’re doing great, when in fact you are about to drown.
2- Always Analyze
Her successful swim was her 5th attempt and it came when when she was 64! Oh yeah, give it up for the “experienced.” She was able to improve each time because she measured everything she could and made adjustments that allowed her to fine tune herself and her team for victory.
Measure! Measure! If you don’t know when you’re getting better, you will never be your best.
3- Never Stop
Even with the greatest team and constant improvement, it takes great determination to do what no one else has ever done!
If God has placed a big dream in your life, don’t let anyone, thing, or obstacle stop you from pushing. If God is for you, you can do something no one else has ever done for the Kingdom!
