4 Steps to a Lasting Move

I see so many leaders who really have great hearts, but seem to always stall out before ever accomplishing a dream or calling they feel they have from God.

I find it’s because they haven’t taken all the necessary steps required to see that vision come to pass. These are personal to me, and what I have found to ring true most times…

1- Know What

This is actually the surrendering part. The part that most never make it past, well… because it’s hard! There is a fear that if we surrender our wills and future that we lose all control, and God is gonna make us do stupid stuff that we won’t like.

Not true! God has our best, He wants to show us His best. But that only comes through a surrendered life.

2- Know How

Once you know the “what”, the very thing you are willing to surrender. The next question will be how? How will I get that degree, how will I plant that church, how can our budget be changed to meet the need we have. In other words, this is the beginning of the planning stage. where you write a plan or at least a strategy for getting the “what” done.

God sees this as you working out your faith. The very act of changing things to line up with His “what.”

3- Know When

As you press in with your planning and listening to God, God will begin to let you see His timing. But remember, that is not revealed unless you are surrendered and begin to do the “works” of faith that you are actually planning on fulfilling the “what” God has called you to do.

4- Know Where

Many will say this comes first. However, I have not found that to be the truth. I think Abraham is the best example of this, “…Leave and go to the place I will show you.” There was already a surrendered heart, the how was there, the when was given, but the last thing to fall in place was the where.

Don’t rush these, be patient, but bold and courageous. Pray, listen to God, write down what He speaks to your heart, and surrender every part of who you are, to the process of becoming everything He wants you to be!

Would you add or take away any step?
