Right now those outside the church think we (Those inside) basically suck! And it’s because of the PERCEPTION we have given them! We are called to be His true reflections, so we must care what others think if Â we are to fullfil our calling as trueÂ ambassadorsÂ for Jesus.
He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. 2 Cor 5
In order change how those outside view us (those inside) and the church, something must change!Â We have to change their perception of us. The only way to do that is change what they See, Hear and Experience!
This “Perception shift” should be seen evolving into a truer, craveable reflection of Jesus in the areas of the Church…
We must care about how people see, hear and what they experience when with us,Â becauseÂ it helps form theirÂ perceptionÂ of Jesus, and His church. This is no easy task. It forces us to take personal responsibility for the impression and perception we give others.
When it comes to groups, intentionality is the key. Those we do life with, need to understand we are on a mission, and God has brought us together to maximize Kingdom Impact.
The local gathering body of the church has to look at itself and ask the hard questions:
How many are making salvation decisions?
How many are moving to small groups?
How many that come become fully engaged?
How long do they stay engaged?
How many people are personally leading people to Jesus?
And so on…
Right now we are loosing the “Perception” of the true church as an accurate reflection of Jesus. But we can change it, but only if we understand or responsibility, and intentionally change what people See, Hear and Experience when with us. A perception that is a true reflection of Jesus…
