Are You Leading in Wisdom or Faith?

46 Flares 46 Flares ×

How you lead is important, but even more important is what you lead “in.” Most leaders lead in wisdom. They look, pray, seek counsel and then lead in the direction they feel is most wise.

But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. ~ James 3:17

Do you see wisdom is willing to yield? That is “how” a great leader leads, but now what he leads “in”, great leaders lead in faith.

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. ~ Romans 10:17

What you need to lead “in” is a clear vision, direction and call of God. In order to have that, you have to believe God has a specific plan for you and those you lead. A real mission vital to the growth of the Kingdom.

You get that “word” from God as you yield your heart and sacrifice your own desires and direction. You come naked, hungry and broken before God ready follow His plan and voice. Then and only then will God reveal the place and plan He has for you.

When you get that, you will then have what you need to lead in… Faith! Before having this word from God, you were only left with your wisdom, and most times leading ‘”in” wisdom fails. We must lead with wisdom, but never “in” wisdom. When we hear from God and lead in faith… That vision yields to NOTHING!

We march forward with the most powerful force in the universe… The word of God

Challenge: Are you leading in Wisdom or Faith?

Check Point: If you are defensive when challenged about the vision you have … It’s not God’s but yours.

This really stuck out to me in the session you did on hearing God.  I have certainly lead in wisdom and it is a great gut check on if a vision is your or God’s.  Thanks for sharing this both here and at the Sticks!

When you taught on this at the Sticks Artie, this really hit home.  I am still trying to sort some things out but i really appreciated this thought in your teaching.  Thanks. And thanks for a great conference.
