When God Says “Come”

To this he replied: “Brothers and fathers, listen to me! The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham while he was still in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Harran. 3 ‘Leave your country and your people,’ God said, ‘and go to the land I will show you.’ – Acts 7:2-3 (NIV)

There is a big difference when hearing from God in hearing Him say, “go” and hearing Him saying “come.” I want to hear God say “come.” When we hear that precious word, He has gone before us, He has made a roadway in the wilderness, He has made a river in the desert, and He is awaiting our arrival!

God is saying “COME.” He is asking us to join Him in some incredible places. From this side, they look kinda scary, but we know He has gone before us and is asking us to join Him on an incredible journey of faith that will touch countless lives.

For the journey to be successful, we must have two things:

  • A Clear Call (A clear word from God saying , “come join Me.”)
  • A Complete Surrender (Anyplace, Anytime, Anything)

God, grant us the grace needed for a complete surrender…

  1. This reminds me of Blackaby’s Experiencing God.  “Find out where God is working and join Him there.”  He also included a quote that was said to Moody: “The world has yet to see what God can do with, and in, and for, and through a man who is fully committed to Him.”  Moody said, “I want to be that man.”  Count me in.  Like you, Artie, I want to hear Him say, “Come.”

  2. Love the difference between God saying Go and saying come – powerful reminder.  Good word today Artie.

  3. A wonderful reminder today.
