Let’s Have One Look… At a Time
As leaders we must have a vision or those who follow will perish, but⦠we can only show a part of a vision at a time.
If a strong visionary unloads everything that God has shown, allow all to taste what they have eaten, give all the same portion they have been entrusted with, it would crush those who follow. The challenge is to know how much to pour into those around you, without letting them feel overwhelmed. But share enough so they will have faith, and believe God with you..
It’s like the bushmen in East Africa,
they measure the distance between villages in “looks” & “stone throws.” a certain village may be three looks and two stone throws away. The bushman has been to the village, he knows what it looks like, and he has smelled the cooking pot & gazed at the livestock.
But you can’t see the village from where you stand, you must pick a point on the horizon as far as you can see, and walk to it.. that’s one lookâ¦etcâ¦.
As leaders we must lead those that follow one look at a time. God has taken us to the village; we know His heart and have heard His voice. But we must lead with patience and graceâ¦
Lead ONE look at a time…

This is a good thought Artie. I think what happens is that we get so excited about the vision we believe God has given us that we try to do “the dump” and want everyone else to see it along with us. I like the idea of a little at a time because it may have been with us for some time and the people need time to assimilate a little at a time. Thanks for a “wise” post.
