Church Planting is the fastest way to spread the Gospel

As the church fully engages in its mission to make disciples the formation of new churches will be a natural product of the Kingdom expansion. Now I’m not trying to promote any one school of planting…Just that a new plant would come out of the harvest, and not in transfer growth.

Church Planting is a Must

What promoted this blog is an email I received today from a man who feels called to plant a church, but his pastor says if he does he "isn’t a true minister." What? Are you serious right now? Why would a pastor be against church planting? I can guess…Spiritual ignorance. A lack of knowing and feeling the weight of the great command to "Go and make followers of all people."

Church Planting needs to be Accelerated

Quite simply, this is my challenge…Are you or will you engage directly or partner with another who is actively planting a church(es)? This is primarily a corporate call, but an individual one as well. Each person and every community of believers must carry the weight to "Go and make followers."

How are you actively obeying the command… "Go and make disciples?"

How many have you "made?"

What is your next step?

    Great post! I think very often, even the best and most well-meaning leaders can accidentally discourage planters by not seeing past an individual’s gifting to the heart of their calling. I think it’s operating in a balance of protecting and empowering that makes all the difference in the world…especially to those stepping out in a greater faith than they ever have before.

    Kudos for church planting.  But as a pastor who has church planters starting churches across the street from him every week – I say, "planters, do your homework".  MY EXPERIENCE has been planter comes in and simply puts up a tent with a bigger & better "show" than yours and basically rapes your church of its people.  That’s not evangelism, that’s stealing sheep.  Some of us are kinda getting tired of it…

    Amen, Marty! Love the burden of Church Planting. Through a ministry I lead, "Project India," we’ve planted 19 churches in previously unreached villages in India since Dec of ’11. We have 760 new believers from a people group (Hindus and Atheists) who had never even heard the gospel. (We are on the verge of planting another 6-7 through team evangelism.) Church Planting is a must for the proclamation of the gospel…the book of Acts certainly demonstrates that. I join you in praying for our Lord to raise up "workers for the Harvest." Thanks…
