“Whatever it takes! “That’s what I tell people all the time. As a church and as an individual, we need to do whatever it takes to see people come into the Kingdom.
People lead people into the Kingdom. In order for that to occur, you have to be where they are, understand their angst without judgement, and love them regardless of their lives or choices. What about when the people we are to reach are not like us. Different culture?
Jesus didn’t stop his Acts 1:8 command at Judea, he told us to take His word “to the ends of the earth.” But there is a big difference between submerging yourself with those in “the ends of the earth” and engaging in it.
A follower with a full spiritual tank is in a good position to engage; love someone into the kingdom by appreciating who they are, not approving all of their actions and beliefs. To submerge yourself into a culture that does not bless the Father is to present yourself with an elephant too tall to jump on.
The first step:
Recognize your responsibility to effect those around you. Filling up with the Word and using it to propel yourself beyond your comfort zone. This is the engage part.
The second step:
Walk with others and show some love. Then you show some more love. Then keep lovin. Your unconditional love should be another person’s tip off that you have a relationship with the One who gave His life out of love. Earning the right to speak Truth to them.
The third step:
Retreat. Everyone’s tank empties, you cannot expect to remain removed from a spiritually uplifting atmosphere and remain in the Spirit very long. Sometimes you gotta bring it back home to fill back up.
