After recovering from the nausea of reading this, I felt a wave of urgency. Not that this kind of thing can’t occur in an Urban area, but this was “small town USA.”
There was a time we would never dream of such a thing going on in a small town (5500). This story just stoked my passion for “Small City” Church planting. We must make a concerted effort to not forget about what I consider the last open mission field in North America. Small Town, USA.
The church planting movement in this country is almost exclusively targeting large cities and Urban areas. But…We must not leave behind these smaller communities that are in desperate need of Life-Giving churches. We need those who love their towns and communities to rise up and take back their land!
If you want to help plant a church in your “Small City” a great place to start is partnering with an organization that has the same heart, like the Comb Network. The Comb is a church planting Network focusing on the Smaller Cities.
It’s time to take All of our cities for the Kingdom, big and the small.
