If I remember correctly… she and her family left and were going to another church because…blah.blah.blah. She told a staff person, “Oh I’m just visiting for the day, then we noticed she had two young black kids with her (she is white).
Apparently she invited these kids
to church and couldn’t take them to her church (all white). So she really wanted to take them to church so she “had” to bring them to Cornerstone (Multi-ethnic, about half white, half black).
This actually occurs quite often. A lady calls and says she saw some ladies come to Jesus at a prison ministry and “couldn’t” take them to her church, could she bring them to our church? Absolutely!
So this is the question…
Who can you bring to YOUR church?
The Middle Easterner?
The physically or mentally challenged?
Let me challenge you with this.
If you aren’t confident, that you can feel comfortable inviting ANYONE you meet to come to church with you (Because you know they will feel welcome, accepted and not feel out of place) FIND ANOTHER CHURCH! Well, if you cant do that, work hard at changing the culture of the church you are in! No church such feel exclusive, NO CHURCH!
