I am a Star Trek fan. There I said it. And I like “Next Generation” better than the original. One of my favorite characters is “Commander Data.” He’s an android, i.e., robot. Whenever he has a malfunction, those caring for him can simply open his little “secret” door and engage his “shut down” or off button. Holy crap! I need one of those soooo bad!
I am at the end of a season where I have ran long and hard. Somethings have been neglected or forgotten all together! At our staff meeting today, I told the staff I needed to hit the “slow motion” button for awhile and take some time to be with family and catch up.
It’s easy to be so passionate, so intense about something that time… some how just slips away. And during that time when your eyes are so focused on something important, you can mess up the most important. It is during those times we must have the strength and wisdom to hit the “off” button. If we don’t, we may very well, self-destruct!
Have you ever had a time like that? What did it feel like? Did you hit the “off” button in time?
