#2- Watch the Mouth
Yo mama, had it right when she told you, "Watch your mouth!" But, then we forgot.
I have written on this several times, but you know what, most people still don’t get it! Most don’t understand the power… that proceeds from our mouths. Words have built and destroyed, marriages, children, friendships, churches & even nations!
This is what Jesus said..
By your words you will be declared innocent, or by your words you will be declared guilty.”Matthew 12:37 (GWT)
That’s heavy man! Now, let me say this, as leaders our words will be judged more severely. Our words carry more weight and influence! The greater the leader you are, the more your words will be taken straight to heart. So we must be careful with every single word!
I like to look at it like this.
- I was created in God’s image
- God creates by speaking things into existence
- Therefore, what I say are seeds that will create or produce something
- When I look at my words (my seeds) what am I growing?
Watch you words! Don’t create something horrible, out of anger, jealousy, pride or weariness. It is much…much easier and far less harmful not to take the seed out of your bag, rather than have to bring in a backhoe and up root a large tree that your seed created!
This is a fact and there is no way to escape it, or not be held accountable for it…
