A one man army spells…DEFEAT!

I remember several years ago, after planting a growing church, family was good, ministry was good, time with God was good, but there was a deep emptiness inside I couldn’t explain, or really identify. After "dealing" with this for a time, I was invited to join a group of other pastors from my state that were pastoring churches very similar to mine.

After 2-days with these wounded lonely souls, I understood what that emptiness inside was… LONELINESS!!! My soul longed to connect with other leaders and pastors that had similar feelings, scars, battle stories, and trophies of victory! I am still apart of those men, and they are apart of me! They are many times my life line!

It is absolutely vital as a leader or pastor to be apart of a peer group that you can be yourself around, where you are not "pastor"  but friend and comrade! This spiritual journey is not one you can prosper on you own, you need others who are and still fighting on the same battle field.

I can tell you a great place to begin to find a group like that if you are from a smaller community, that is "TheSticks" a gathering movement to bring pastors and leaders together that have a passion to win smaller communities for Jesus!

Don’t run on the battle field alone, a one man army will be DEFEATED!

I attended the first Sticks in Loudonville, OH a couple years back. Love the idea, but am not impressed that majority of speakers are from large cities/metro areas, pastoring large churches. I understand tranferance of principles, but you can’t tranfer context.

I’m hearing you Jeff, I have recently become the director of the Sticks, and we are very sensitive to that, being from the sticks myself, I want to hear from my peers as well.

Thanks for the "heads up" bro, try the the conference this year, it will be different.
