Don’t cut it, if you can “Untie” it!

I was reading a blog today by Paul Anderson-Walsh He was addressing the issue of how leaders and pastors have left a lot people behind, because many are just to difficult and require to much energy to deal with. Many pastors are themselves hurt, and we know “hurt people hurt people”… including pastors and leaders. This is  a quote from Paul’s blog:

church leaders have concentrated on routing out the dissidents rather than addressing their own dissonance.   Wherever possible we must learn not to cut what we can untie.

I know for me, there are many opportunities to cut people out, off, loose or away, because I don’t feel adequate or to overwhelmed to deal with it. However, when we do that , we are being very poor stewards of the precious souls God has entrusted to our care, even if we would rather give them back to Him!

Can you remember a time when you have cut someone loose, rather than putting forth the love and time to “untie” them?

This is an interesting thought. Certainly something I need to work on in my personal life. Thank you for the great reminder!

So true, it’s so much easier to just avoid a problem person rather than trying to work things out.
