7-Proofs, I don’t have it all together!

You know, just because you are a pastor, leader, father, mother or CEO it doesn’t mean you aren’t human! I’m a pastor, but I am so human it is flat out scary. Almost everyday I think to myself, everyone around me is going to figure out I don’t have it all together. It’s not like I act as if I have it all together, it’s just that when you are a leader, people "think" you should have it all together! Well let me confess to you right now I DON’T! Let me tell you why…

1. I am so impatient way too often. On the phone with my wife today, had to repent!

2. I have a hard time with self-control. Especially with eating and TV watching.

3. Sometimes I ignore problems because I just don’t want to deal with them.

4. I get so focused on what I’m doing I can hurt others around me and not know it. (People come first!)

5. I will start something and not finish it. I hate that in others, and yet I will do it at times.

6. I still struggle with the fear & approval of man. It makes it hard to follow God, if you fear man.

7. I don’t spend as much time with God as I should, at times I try and run on yesterday’s anointing. That is dangerous!

If you are a leader… and you don’t think you have it all together yet, share with the rest of us….?

    With you on this Artie.

More transparency (more like a mirror….)

    Thanks, Artie

How about this for #8: I tell folks of Christ’s victory over sin and the power we have to walk with Him instead of the world, and still find myself struggling with sins, failures, and weaknesses. Oh, and I still have to get up in front of folks and preach/teach, too.

I believe I know of of another great leader that struggled with the same issue…. The Apostle Paul.

    Great honesty!

But, most importantly, "had to repent" is the difference.
It is the hallmark of the godly.

A repenting heart is a gift from God.
