Mix it up! Put the Lime in the Coconut!

O how easy it is to get in a rut! I have found it very difficult my whole life not to get in a rut! I hate the RUT! Someone once defined a rut as "a grave with the ends knocked out." I have discovered that if I allow myself to be in a rut in any one area… of my life, it seems develop a life of it’s own, it’s like "rut creep." One rut will creep into other areas of your life.

Just some random things I’ve done to kill the "Rut Creep."

1. Get up at different time in the morning

2. Change your hair style (I know for some guys this is tough, don’t recommend the highlights though)

3. Read a different version of the bible (I change every year, I rotate about 5-versions)

4. Make a new friend. And invest in them.

5. Try a new hobby, read a different kind of book.

6. Change your face! (Right now I am growing a goatee 1st time EVER! Wife says it scratches)

7. Go do a different kind of church one weekend. I mean off your charts!

8. Find a mentor or coach, and let them help you to the  next level. (If you don’t think you need one, you’re a walking dead man and don’t know it)

9. Fast from  your favorite "un-plug" activity for 48 hours, and do something else!

10. And lastly and maybe the best:_______________________________

You fill it in! Comment bellow something you would suggest…..

I like the idea of finding a mentor, but at this point in my life and my situation, I wonder who would be strong enough to listen to me? I love your list, I believe this is all true. I am stuck, not a rut but just plain stuck. Not being able to move on from a bad situation which makes me ill, mentally. At least I admit it and I think that is one of the biggest improvements I’ve made. Glad I could come visit your site, first time here and I will keep reading.

    10. Write down your thoughts; you have no idea how it saves in therapy bills.

HEY Purple B! Understanding what is going on in your life and facing head on is huge. It takes great courage to hit those right in the face, I applaud you for that! I will pray that God will show Himself strong on your behalf, and you will realize new potential and possibilities you never knew existed.

For me it’s driving a different route to work. Sounds silly, but a change of scenery is good.
