God doesn’t care if I drive a PINK CADILLAC!

God doesn’t care if I drive a pink Cadillac! That’s what a guy told me the other day in our conversation about finding God’s purpose for his life. He didn’t understand how much he really means to God.

I asked him if he had kids, yea… three. Do you have an opinion about where they go to school, who the date or marry, where they go… to college or where they work? "Well, of course I do!" Why? Because you love them so much, that you care about even the small things that concern them? "Yes, because I love them." So… what you are really saying is that you are a better father than God? "What?" Of course that’s not what I’m saying!"

Well in essence that’s what he was saying. Too often, we don’t understand how precious we are to our heavenly Father. He really does concern Himself about the smallest things concerning us. He is not to busy, uncaring or "to big" to care about the things that are on our hearts. If we think anything less than that, it really is insulting to a loving Father who with all His heart is trying to demonstrate is love, and we say "He really doesn’t care about that." Then God says, "you don’t understand how much I love you…

I DO CARE IF YOU DRIVE A PINK CADILLAC!

Thanks Michael, what kind of car do you drive?

  • http://Www.jacook.org Ja

Can I have a Porsche instead? There’s just nothing manly about a pink Cadillac.

    Artie: Great post, as always.

I think God cares about the little things and big things, but sometimes in different ways. God cares if we drive a pink Cadillac, & if we are HAPPY driving it. That’s not to say that God only wants us to be "happy". I believe it is like the experience I had today w/ #2 son. He took his OWN EARNED $$$ and bought some T-shirts for back-to-school. I found nothing objectionable about any of them. One shirt was purple with a giant Mr. Koolaid on the front. What I cared about was that HE liked it, understood it’s cost, & was happy (he’s 16)

There is love in caring if we are happy in our choices, as well as caring about the choices, themselves.

    Just a thought.

    And I’d prefer an F150 twin-cab!

Amen, Artie.  I know he cares what I drive, because our Honda Odyssey came as a gift from brothers and sisters in Christ and family who graciously surprised us with our van after seeing how much time and work away from ministry I was having to spend to keep the old one going.

You Bet James! As any loving father cares about the smallest thing concerning their child, our heavenly Father is not so busy to care about the small things with us!
