I’m Gonna Preach. "Jesus is the HOMEY"

Since we have a Multi-Ethnic church, I’m always looking for ways to mix it up! Might try this next Sunday! Love it!

LEADERS! Know Your "INFLUENCERS" or die a slow DEATH!

I speak straight from experience on this one guys! You may have a great "God given" vision, incredible plans & a passion to change the world! But, all this will die a slow death if not adopted by those you lead. Therefore, the Q. How do I transfer my great vision to those I lead? The key is knowing the "influencers" in your following! The "influencers" are those who carry weight, whose opinions are sought after and valued!

If you miss these…you die! Well not literally… Continue Reading…

Leadership Lesson-8. Work your STRENGTH!

It may sound like a no brainier, but I swear, I talk to so many leaders and pastors that spend soooo much time trying to improve on what they don’t do well, they neglect what they do BEST! This drives me crazy! Come on people! God has gifted, anointed and called you for a purpose and that purpose is to grow His Kingdom! He has put you in a place, and given you spiritual strength to accomplish that calling. Don’t turn your head to the right or the left! Instead… Continue Reading…

Leadership Lesson-9: Delegate your Weakness!

Let me speak the truth to you right here right now! You are not as good as you may think you are. I know, I know, no one like to hear that, but we must face facts. As a leader, it is your job, lead those that follow you, and accomplish the vision God has given you. Believe me, you will need others around you to see that happen.

Somethings you were not designed to carry. God has gifted others around you to do things with great Continue Reading…

Leadership Lesson-10. Spend $ on your STAFF!

One thing I have learned in leading teams in the commercial & spiritual arenas, it is vital too spend money on your staff! Especially if you desire to grow, inspire and instill vision in those you lead. Those you lead need multiple steams of training & input. I have seen a tremendous return on funds budgeted for: Training, conferences, workshops & vision trips! Continue Reading…

Sometimes. A JACKASS is a good leader!

I love the story in 1 Samuel 9. Saul’s dad loses his donkeys and sends Saul to find them. Saul and his servant look for days and never find the donkeys. But, when they reach a city where the servant knows Samuel the prophet is staying, the servant says, "let’s go ask the man of God." So they gather a little money to give to Samuel and approach the Prophet.

They didn’t know, the day before, God told Samuel this very thing would occurContinue Reading…

10-Random Lessons for Pastors

I will expound on each of these in later posts. I just wanted to shoot the whole list now, sometimes you just can’t hold it in!

10. Send your staff & leaders to conferences. One of the best ways to expose & challenge them to new visions.

9. Hire your weakness. You are not good at everything. Nobody is. So hire the one who does best what you do worst. Continue Reading…

Who is "QUALIFIED" to start a church?

That is a long standing question that in many ways has shaped the landscape of churches in N. America. We have approached the process of church planting with to many Pharisaical standards that have been ingrained in our systems so long, we need a virus scan to delete them, so we can run fast and hard for the Kingdom!

I want to answer that question from what I see as the biblical model. Continue Reading…

Don’t say, "In the name of Jesus."

Don’t freak out on me so fast, let me explain. Don’t you realize and see that the "Christian" community has used this phrase as a spiritual metaphor and a standard "close" for all prayers simply out of tradition and habit. Not fully understanding what we are saying. God has really been rocking my world with this lately.

Don’t say, "In the name of Jesus"…Unless… Continue Reading…
