3-Ways to keep it HOT baby!

A friend of mind is well known among his friends for a joke he told when he first came to town. It goes something like this, an old man was first introduced to the “new” thermos, that could keep cold stuff cold, and hot things hot, the old man scratched his head and asked, “How do it know?” My wife and I use a “thermos” coffee pump everyday. It keeps the coffee hot for hours, and doesn’t let it go bad by stewing on the hot plate of the coffee maker. But, the coffee eventually turns lukewarm, and then cold. The idea is… To keep it HOT baby! Keep it HOT!…

This is the point. We are like a coffee thermos, every person we meet gets a “shot” of what is in us! And what we should be giving people we meet is a HOT fresh encounter with God! In order to that we must do these three things…

1. Fill it up! We must have hot fresh encounters with God, on an on-going basis! Not just occasionally. All through the day, have encounters with God! Set times, even 5-minute times where you intentionally go to the source and get filled up with something HOT & fresh!

2. Pour it out! Ever have something so HOT in your mouth, you had to spit it out? Our passion with God must be that hot! When we encounter others, our fire for God just burns on those around us! When someone encounters us, they should feel the heat of God on them!

3. Refill it! We have to fill up, then pour it out to make room for more! If you never pout it out, it will become cold and just nasty! But, if we pour it out, we must get filled up again! Not just hourly or daily. We must schedule some extended time with God. Where we can pour ourselves out before Him, He cleans out the pot, removes any sentiment and then refills us with His fire and passion!

Don’t ever allow yourself to give out cold or even lukewarm “shots” to those you meet. Keep it HOT baby, HOT!
