10-Things I want to GO AWAY!

Screen shot 2010-04-06 at 6.28.21 PMOK. No need to get offended at my list. This is just an occasional opportunity to “go off” on some things that really get under my skin. I know, I’m supposed to be the “Pastor” and be nice and patient and always loving and understanding with everyone. If you are thinking like that please refer to #1 below! And have a nice day!

1. People who think they are more righteous than anyone else, and don’t mind saying so.

2. The person who keeps  taking up TWO parking spaces because they don’t want anyone to scratch their “crap.”

3. Debt! Please give me a magic wand, so many people struggling!

4. The idea you serve cold pats of butter with warm bread, this is just wrong!

5. The people who make complaining a creative art!

6. The law that says, “If it’s raining, God will forgive you for not going to church.”

7. The deaf ear of the mother who sits on the front row of church with her screaming child, can I get a witness?

8. The car in front of me driving in the passing lane, not passing anyone! Need a paint ball gun!

9. All foods that are still on the shelf past the expiration date. Just when I forget to look. Nasty!

10. All church “competition” that causes a warrior to intentionally wound another in the name of “right.”

OK. I’m finished. Have one you want to add to the list? C’mon, not one is reading….. (↓).

People that use the cross/forgiveness as a license to continue to sin and those that encourage it!

Fortunately, I have not experienced #7 after 11 years of church life. Your suggestion for #8 makes me think you’ve watched LA Story w/ Steve Martin – “Its open season!” #3 really hits at the heart and makes one yearn for the days of the Jubilee year.

    Blessed Easter!

    :D

I made my own list like this! I blame it on our Lutheran upbringing–we obviously know the difference between right and wrong, and are annoyed when we don’t see it our way. Ha! Love the list, pastor. ;)

Oops! I made the assumption you too were Lutheran. I blame that on @revajagow. Ha!

    1,2,5,7,8 and 10 Couldn’t agree more!
To all of the one I marked Selfishness is their motivation.

Amen to #3! Anytime I hear someone talk about there being such a thing as “good debt” I want to gag a bit. But I could rant on that for a while…

I would suggest adding ripping Bible verses out of their context to
    a. sell a coffee cup, t-shirt or other sort of church-merch
    b. justify sin
    c. build support for a weak argument

All of those things grate on me.

any wounded warrier is out of self gratification and not that of what is pleasing to the Lord- there should not be any church “competition” as all Christians are to worship God – church is not a business there should be no cut throat and it is sad to say that there is in every church and each church sees the other as “competition”- Hello! each church is a place of worship not a place to worship the church itself but a place to worship GOD
so ten things I wish would Go Away are
    1. Cancer
    2. Gum smacking

Can I add: people with a Jesus fish on their car who either drive slow or give you the middle finger when you drive past them.

Does #5 apply to this post? Seriously, those who do #8 are my nemeses.

Okay, I’ve been guilty of #8, but only when the folks in the right-hand lane won’t let me back in and there’s a guy with a paint ball gun right on my tail. And, sorry, but the “passing lane” or “fast lane” is **NOT** exempt from the speed limit!
