5-Clues. “Seeker” sensitive or “Spirit” sensitive?
Our church has gone through a transition over the last (2) years. I must admit I LOVE IT! In the past, I was a great advocate of the “attractional” model of church. However, I think that term has become infected with so many “amendments” that it’s not “attractive” any more (to tempting not to pun that). We have come to realize that it’s far more important to spend the time understanding what God has for us, and not focus on things that someone else has done, or do something because it would “prove” we are out of the box.
Please don’t misunderstand me.
- We are all about seeing the unchurched come to our weekend services, but we have changed the way we seek to engage those that come.
.
- It’s not about serving up a really cool service, and a cool message. But rather, we focus on listening to God, and being sensitive to the Spirit, and inviting His presence to guide our services.
.
- Listen, who is more concerned about seeing people come to Jesus than the Spirit of God!
.
- Things are changed at the last minute, and we are OK with that, IF it comes by prompting of the Spirit.
.
- We are experiencing more growth, and more salvation’s. We are even doing WEEKLY spontaneous baptisms, and it’s GLORIOUS!
SO… let me challenge you not to be focused on the “SEEKER” but rather be focused on the”SPIRIT”, and I guarantee you, those seeking to find God, WILL!
