The…ATTITUDE of a DANGEROUS Christ follower!

ShortHeader-FollowingGodThe attitude of a dangerous Christ follower is one of simple abandonment! Everything is abandoned for the sake of the calling of Christ. Our hunger and devotion to God must be THE most important thing in our lives. All else must be dim in comparison if we are to win the daily war against all the distractions that are battling for 1st place in our minds and lives.

I wrote this in my journal this morning. This is my commitment today to have an attitude of a dangerous Christ follower…

Psalm 107.9…for he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things.

My heart must long for my God. Desiring nothing more than His presence and the whisper of His voice. All other desires, must pale in comparison, so much so that they should not be considered a desire at all, but rather receive a mere glance of my attention. Then my eyes will turn quickly back to the Lord that is set before me, and to Him will all my energies, love and devotion be directed.

Is your attitude today a danger to the kingdom of darkness. Will your attitude today have made a difference 100 years from now?

Good thoughts about followership to Jesus. I’m curious how you think Jesus transforms our desires for good things (raising family, doing "good", being responsible) into righteous things.

I think it happens between the ears & armpits. The head & heart! We can do the same thing, one with an attitude that come from an overflow relationship with God, or we can just do the "right" thing, and be motivated by religion or fear. I love the old saying, "you can never do anything wrong, and still not do anything right."

I like that saying. I think it’s important to distinguish between sinful desires and regenerate desires. Now that the heathen (me) has become saved he has new desires he once never had. And this, of course, is credible to the Holy Spirit. And by these new desires he can pursue holiness. Of course Jesus is the meta-focus of this new creature’s desires, but there are other that flow from the fountain which moistens once dry, good desires (from before the fall) and makes them alive again.

i think one key to being dangerous to the Enemy is to control any and all fear. You need to "nuke your fear". Fear is of the Enemy. When you master it you can become a "razor-sharp instrument".

Still working on that in a few areas…

What is the boldest thing you’ve ever done for Christ? When was it? Never be satisfied with your answers! That’s how I say it. Great blog – inspired and pumped after reading it. Full Armor!

Yes, Artie! Jesus is not happy with us leading passive, mundane lives. He has called us to lead risky, dangerous lives. This means living wholly and completely for Jesus. Paul and Silas led such dangerous lives that they were accused of turning the world "upside down" (Acts 17:6). Like them, we need to live each day like we are not afraid, and boldly live for Jesus!

I believe in this concept so wholeheartedly that I wrote, Living Dangerously.
