I had the chance to speak at a church planters training conference yesterday. They asked me to tell our story at Cornerstone… and the one thing I would want every church planter to know. I shared with them the importance of hearing and knowing God's voice…in other words it looks something like this:
What I mean is the principle is our die hard belief, say…discipleship.
And we define what that product looks like, but in order to get to the product we must have a process and a practice for the process.
The temptation is to incorporate the latest thing or the newest strategy from the newest book. I tried that for a time, and it doesn't work. That is short-cutting the process. If God calls you to lead, you must take the time to hear what God says your process and practice should be. If you miss the voice, you will miss the mark. This can in some cases take long periods of time, extended times of prayer and fasting, regular private Communion, and spiritual escapes.
But it is soooo worth it guys, wait to hear from God!
